    I created this necklace from creamy pale mint green “new jade”. It's knotted on green silk thread, accented by a sterling silver leaf and branch clasp, which can be worn in the front to show it off, or in the back for a more subtle look.  I made the flower of a carved shell pendant and pearls with tiny silver balls, and I put a lobster hook on the back so I can wear the necklace with or without the flower pendant.

    I'm a new member and I live in North Carolina.  I've been a beader since I was young.  My mother taught me how to bead and to make a netted necklace pattern that was passed down from many generations of women in her family.  Besides the netted design, my favorite thing to do back then was to make simple "love beads" to wear -- that was the generation in which I grew up.  Now I do all sorts of designs and enjoy using unique or unexpected elements in my jewelry.
