Hi All, Let's take a few minutes to introduce ourselves to each other! My name is Beki Haley, I own Out On A Whim, aka Whimbeads.com I recently celebrated my 26th anniversary with Shawn, who is also my business partner. We've got 4 kids, Nick 25, Justin 23, Sara 22 and Shawna 18. We've also got a unofficial adopted daughter, Elizabeth who is also 18. Over the years we've had many other kids call our house their home, but as they get older they are moving along. I still manage to cook enough to feed that army, however! I've been beading since I was a young girl. I used to spend summers with my Grandmother as both my parents worked jobs that kept them out of the house several days in a row. My Grandmother did all types of crafts, but beading was her favorite and soon became mine as well. By 12 I was selling bracelets and anklets to my schoolmates and by 16 I had started doing craft shows. 22 years ago I was given the opportunity to help my Mother-in-Law start a business. She always wanted to own a gift store, but didn't know the first thing about running a business. So in exchange for my help I was given a little corner of the store to sell beads out of. That just added to my obsession of wanting to own every bead ever made! LOL I consider myself a Beadweaver first as that is my greatest love and what makes me happiest, but I also do bead stringing and a lot of Metal Clay work. Recently I've been incorporating my Metal Clay creations in with my beadwork. Here are a couple of examples:

Hi! You all have such beautiful work! I'm a mixed media artist but have done very little in the way of beading. I think one of my first pieces was this high-fire ceramic and turquoise necklace that I made for my daughter (with a turtle pendant).
I own the website, www.thatcreativeplace.com where we host online art/craft classes. I have been wanting to bead for some time now and for as many things as I do in art, it's wierd that I seem to be intimidated about beading.
I love Vintaj and brass jewelry and just bought some brass stampings to do some patinas on. I love Beads Unique, it's the magazine that I keep coming back to as my favorite.
I have 3 grown daughters, 3 grandsons and 2 new grandbabies on the way. My husband is my biggest fan and my best friend.
Nice to meet you all!

Hmm, Well I am just like my mother. I am a crafter of all types! When my sisters and I were young, she dabbled in all types of crafts, exposing us to everything from plaster molds to resin castings. I even remember Mom boiling glass marbles on the stove then running cold water over them to get them to "crackle" just enough to look pretty. Therefore, you could say I came by it naturally. While I was in the Navy I tried to get into doing something crafty, but the job hours were too long and it never seemed to work out. When my husband and I both finished our many years in the Navy, I knew that I could finally start to get into my crafts once more. I started back into my first love of stained glass. After getting back into the glass and getting the creative juices flowing again, I started drawing my own patterns and taking on commission work from friends and coworkers of my husbands. One thing lead to another and my husband and I gradually started our own stained glass business, Crystal Wand Creations. We started doing the usual art fair circuit in the surrounding area, and continued that for about 3 years. Then we joined forces with my sister and brother-in-law and opened up a place called the Sycamore Marketplace. It was a great place that had live entertainment, food and drink and of course,...it sold stained glass. I also gave stained glass classes there as well. It was at this time that I started getting into making jewelry. I started noticing the jewelry that all the women were wearing and thought, "I could do that". Therefore, I started asking if I could draw their pieces, then I would take my drawings home and buy the pieces to make it and make it. Then I was hooked! When my husband saw this, he got that deer in the head lights kinda look...you know....how much is this going to cost me kinda look. Anyway, he was excited about it after I did some pieces and we took a small sample of them to a glass show and every one of them sold. Now we have several websites that we show/sale our glass and jewelry on. Well that is pretty much the short version. The only thing I left out was that I am 52, my husband is 57, and we are very thankful that we have been able to do all these things. The only way to remain sane in today’s world is to have some for of creative outlet! Thanks for listening! Lois McIntire
This first one is called the "King's Cross". The glass that is used on these is called Gecko glass, and it has the most brillant reflective quality to it. The main reason for this is because we used the red and yellow Gecko glass, and red, pink and yellow stained glass (and most variations of them) use 24 carat gold in the manufacturing process. That is why those particular colors are more expensive.
This necklace is called "African Royalty". It is a meditation necklace I made, meaning it will bring the wearer peace and serenity amongst the chaos. I've always loved this one, and each time I look at it I get that same royal feeling again.
Now here's "Big Bertha". I don't know why, we've just always called her "Big Bertha" from the day she was born. She is created from stained glass, crystals, beads, wire filigree and glass nuggets. Once you've witnessed the sunrise through "Big Bertha's" eye's you'll swear you've died on gone to heaven!
Well there's a few of my baubbles. I really enjoy seeing everyone else's work, it keeps me inspired to keep myself busy. This is a great site to be involved in.
Thanks!
Lois

I'm Amie and I'm a beginner again after many years of not stringing! Beads and findings of any quality disappeared from the craft store many years ago and I was out of the habit of looking. When I got a Medic Alert bracelet, I wanted something nice to hold it on and not just the regular chain or their blah beaded bracelet. When I went in search of parts, I was stunned to find all these beading websites and the bead shops, as well as decent beading materials in the craft stores. See what you miss when you aren't looking?? So now I'm back at it almost every day, adapting techniques to my abilities - I have slightly contracted and atrophied hands from scleroderma. Stringing with most beads and such is pretty easy, but early crimps have failed on me and wirework is challenging. Beading with those little things is impossible! One try is still down in the carpet!
I'm addicted to hilltribe silver and have loaded up on it at clearance and trunk shows lately. I've also used my first Saki silver clasp and have a few others to work into a design. My hubby also signed me up for a "bead of the month" club of semi-precious beads at my favorite store, and I'm enjoying the challenge of creating things with someone else's choice of beads. The first month was definitely things I woud never have chosen but ended up going into pieces pretty swiftly.

Hello everyone my name is Ava and I am a jewlery creator and designer. I started making jewelry a few years ago but only started selling it roughly 2 years ago. I am a married mom of three and I have a 16 year old step-daughter who I taught to make jewelry and she now spends entire weekends working on new projects.
I attend Chattanooga State full-time and eventually want to go into the field of Geology. I tumble my own stones and love anything to do with rocks and gems. I find it all very interesting.
I have shops on Etsy, Winkelf, artfire, pinkdoodle, and MIM. I am a member of Etsy Jewelry Designers and Supply shops on etsy. We are currently holding a Valentines promo where three will win free jewelry worth $40 each!! We have promotions like that all the time and they are always fun.
I am trying to promote my jewelry to local shops and hope to always have time to create. I also use resin and I sketch.
Thats about it, It is so uncomfortable talking or writing about yourself.... :)
Here are some of my pieces:
